Position Description:
The Data Center Commissioning Manager provides management and direction to a team of commissioning engineers / professionals assigned to a Regional office in the fulfillment of Critical Facilities Assurance client centered services involving surveying, evaluation, commissioning and testing of mission critical facilities.
As the primary business leader of the CFA team, the Practice Leader develops and fosters close relationships with clients to leverage business opportunities for the company which lead to additional professional services sales and contracts.
Job Objectives:
Selects, trains and mentors CFA staff in assigned office or region to assure CFA Menu of Services is delivered to client expectations in a cost effective manner.
Develops and prices proposals for clients employing the CFA Menu of Services tools and processes, responding to opportunities and Request for Proposals in a timely and effective manner.
Executes accepted proposals within agreed scopes of work to achieve a high level of client satisfaction and within budget and performance targets of the proposal.
Provides leadership by example in hands-on problem solving and training opportunities with the assigned CFA staff.
Employs project tracking, personnel scheduling and cost accounting systems to assure CFA business objectives are met.
Monitors participation and compliance with the company safety program in all field work to protect clients and employees.
Direct Responsibilities:
Managing the project proposal process at the regional level to assure market opportunities are fully realized.
Managing the CFA wide field safety program for assigned CFA staff, assuring participation and conformity.
Managing the project and personnel scheduling process through the company's Citrix system to assure accurate and uniform utilization for the assigned CFA staff, identifying and resolving personnel issues with other CFA Practice Leaders to assure client commitments are met.
Teams with members of the Marketing team to develop identified CFA service opportunities into fully executed and deliverable contracts for professional service.
Manages the delivery of contracted work through supervision of CFA Project Managers within the assigned office and discipline, assuring work is completed on-time, on-budget in a high quality manner.
Indirect Responsibilities:
Teams with CFA Directors and Practice Leaders to align processes and tactics in the delivery of CFA services.
Provides client-facing marketing and sales support in proposal presentations, as assigned.
Provides primary client contact in resolving service and contractual issues as they arise to assure a satisfactory and timely outcome for both the company and the client.
Provides direct input into implementation strategies for CFA Menu of Service products to assure fulfillment is seamless and effective.
Experience and Education:
Technical Degree in an accredited college or university, Bachelor level. Masters level study or degree preferred.
Licensed PE a plus
Minimum of 7- 10 years experience in a technical service delivery organization with a history of progressively more responsibility executed successfully by objective measures.
Data Center / Mission Critical Experience a big plus
Excellent communication and organizational skills, high competency in technical writing, systems development and utilization.
